$19 service call — that’s the full price of the visit. A local tech comes out, finds the problem and gives you a written price. Parts and labor for the repair are extra, and nothing starts until you approve it. If you say no, you pay $19 and that’s it.
No trip, fuel or after-hours fees. We’ll tell you the arrival window when you call.
Visita a domicilio: $19 en total. El técnico revisa la puerta y le da un precio por escrito antes de trabajar. Si no acepta, solo paga $19.
They work with the springs to raise and lower the door evenly. When a cable frays, slips off its drum or snaps, the door hangs crooked, jams in the tracks or won’t move at all. A broken spring often takes a cable with it, and the other way around.
We repair and replace lift cables on garage doors in Los Angeles and Ventura County. The technician checks both sides, because cables wear as a pair, and looks at the drums, the bottom brackets and the springs before giving you a price. Near the coast, rust is a common reason cables fray.
Signs you need this repair
The door hangs crooked, with one side lower than the other
A cable is hanging loose, frayed or unwound from its drum
The door jammed partway, tilted in the opening
A gap under one side of the door when it’s closed
Rust or broken strands on the cable near the bottom corners
Safety first
A crooked door is an unstable door. Don’t try to open or close it, by hand or with the opener, and keep everyone out from under it. Never touch a loose cable, the drums or the bottom corner brackets: the cable is tied to springs under high tension and can whip or let the door drop. If a car is inside, leave it until the door is fixed. Pull the red release cord only if the door is fully closed and sitting level.

Questions
Why did my garage door cable snap?
Cables fray with age and rust, especially near the bottom brackets where moisture collects. A broken spring, a door that hit something, or a roller jumping the track can also yank a cable off its drum.
Can I just put the cable back on the drum?
Please don’t. The cable is tied into the spring system, and resetting it means working against high tension. A door that slips while you hold the cable can drop fast.
Should both cables be replaced?
Both cables usually have the same age and wear. The technician will show you the condition of the other side, and the written price spells out what’s included. You decide.
My door is crooked but still opens. Can I keep using it?
No. A crooked door puts uneven load on the cables, rollers and tracks, and it can come off track or fall. Stop using it and call.
